Dashboard 'BCO Coverage and Occupancy Monitoring (8000)': general explanation

The standard dashboard 'BCO Coverage and Occupancy Monitoring' can be used to monitor the extent to which the set budgets correspond with the realized direct hours, the man-machine ratio, and the coverage. This also allows monitoring of the extent to which costs are covered by the realized direct hours. These are visible both graphically and in grids.

Target audience

  • Management
  • Controllers
  • Administrators
  • Production Managers

Where in MKG?

  1. Open the module BCO Dashboards.
  2. If the dashboard is not displayed immediately: click on the hamburger menu at the top right of the button bar and select the option 'Forms' » 'Dashboard'.
  3. Click on the Views button and select BCO Coverage and Occupancy Monitoring (8000).

Parameters

  • From Period: the period from which the dashboard shows data.
  • Until Period: the period up to and including which the dashboard shows data.
  • From Fiscal Year: the fiscal year from which the dashboard shows data.
  • Until Fiscal Year: the fiscal year up to and including which the dashboard shows data.
  • Grouping based on: this parameter allows selecting the field on which data in the dashboard should be grouped. A value of 1 groups data by hour type; a value of 2 by processing group.

Hours Graphically

The 'Hours Graphically' tab contains a list per operation group including:

  • man-hours per operation group - actual man-hours per operation group
  • budget man-hours per operation group - BCO operation budget
  • the deviation between them
  • machine hours per operation group - actual machine hours per processing group
  • budget machine hours per processing group - BCO operation budget
  • the deviation between them

Here you find 4 charts. The bar turns blue for 'over-budgeted hours' and orange for 'under-budgeted hours'. The light blue line represents the budget:

  • Man-hours per period
  • Man-hours cumulative
  • MMR (man/machine ratio)
  • Machine hours per period
  • Machine hours cumulative

Hours Monitoring

The 'Hours Monitoring' tab provides a schematic overview of the hours worked, divided into 2 blocks. In the first block, the hours are divided per operation group, and when you click on a operation group, a detailed overview per operation is displayed in the second block. The columns are divided as follows:

  • The first block on the left concerns man-hours: assigned man-hours, budget man-hours, standard man realization, overtime man realization, deviation, and the percentage deviation.
  • The second and middle block concerns machine hours: assigned machine hours, budget machine hours, standard machine realization, overtime machine realization, deviation, and the percentage deviation.
  • The third, most right block: The man-machine ratio operation and the man-machine ratio real.

At the bottom of the columns, you find the total counts. Small deviations can often be ignored as they are not very relevant.

Amounts Graphically

The 'Amounts Graphically' tab provides a similar overview as 'Hours Graphically'. However, this offers the overview expressed in monetary terms.

Financial

The 'Financial' tab provides monthly insights into the amounts, and the total coverage can also be found here.

Special notes

  • This dashboard can retrieve up to 5 fiscal years from the past. If a year is entered in the 'From Fiscal Year' parameter that is more than 5 fiscal years ago, the dashboard will not display data.
  • Different fiscal years are not combined in this dashboard. Fiscal years can be selected using the 'Fiscal Year' filter on the left side of the screen.
  • On the 'Hours Graphically' and 'Amounts Graphically' tabs, you can click through to underlying operations in the 'List' table by double-clicking the group for which you want to view the underlying operations.
  • On the 'Hours Graphically' and 'Amounts Graphically' tabs, you can find graphs with 3 possible colors. By default, 'Realization' is colored dark blue in these graphs, but if this value falls below the light blue 'Budget', it is colored orange as an indication.
  • On the 'Hours Monitoring' tab, the realized man-machine ratio (MMR real.) is colored red if it deviates from the established man-machine ratio (MMR mon.).
